Potential Coverup: What happened to Qaadir & Naazir Lewis?

Qaadir & Naazir Lewis (19)

Qaadir Malik Lewis and Naazir Rahim Lewis were 19 year old twins from Lawrenceville, Georgia. They were born on April 5th 2005 to Mother, Twin Brawner. They had recently graduated from Collins Hills High School in Suwanee, Georgia. Naazir was enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program at Gwinett Technical College and Qaadir attended the Aviation Institute of Maintenance. They had only eleven months remaining in their programs, with plans to start a business after graduation.

On Friday, March 7th 2025, the twins left their home in Lawrenceville, Georgia to fly to Boston to meet friends. That same day, family members lost contact with them and continued to attempt to contact them up until the next day. On March 8th a group of hikers discovered the deceased bodies of both Qaadir & Naazir Lewis on Bell Mountain in Hiawassee, Georgia (Towns County). The location of their bodies was 90 miles from their home where they were last seen. They both suffered from gunshot wounds, but police wouldn't say whether or not a firearm was found on scene. In the preliminary investigation, police claimed it was evident of a murder/suicide. The families of the twins completely rejected this idea, they say it makes absolutely no sense. They both were close to beginning their respective careers, they had no issues with one another whatsoever, and they had tickets and plans to fly to Boston to meet friends. Family members also say that they had never been to or even heard of Bell Mountain.

Towns County is historically notorious for harboring sundown towns, Sundown towns are areas or neighborhoods that practiced racial segregation by excluding non-whites, particularly African Americans, through intimidation, violence, or discriminatory laws. These towns often displayed signs warning non-whites to leave by sundown, hence the term "sundown town." In February of 2024 Trevonte Jamal Shubert-Helton was found hanging in High Shoals Falls. He was dating a white woman from Towns County, and there is a lot of speculation surrounding his death, as well as the investigation.

To further suspicions about the twins deaths, a volunteer firefighter, Scott Kelvin was arrested for dissemination of confidential police information for taking photos of the bodies and posting them publicly online. Not only was this completely disgusting and inappropriate behavior, but it truly makes you question his motivation and potential involvement. This case has been entirely swept under the rug, and nobody believes this was a murder/suicide, it doesn't make any logical sense. This appears to be another rural, racially discriminatory police department with no interest in finding justice for these poor kids. Let's not let their story fall by the wayside, the only way to find the truth is to keep bringing attention and awareness to this case, and so many other like it.

The family has a GoFundMe set up for investigation resources linked here: GoFundMe Link
